Each year the table is set with the best china and delicious aroma of turkey, dressing, gravy and pies fill the air. We gather at the Thanksgiving table and find….just 3 kernels of corn on each plate.
My husband and I began this tradition when our children were little as a way of helping teach the importance of counting our blessings.
Before the meal we each take turns saying three things that we’re thankful for while placing the kernels in a dish.
We’ve had the opportunity to share this tradition with extended family and friends gathered around the table of celebration. I am always blessed by the togetherness it brings when we quiet ourselves to think about and listen to what matters most in life to each of us.
As we gather this year one of my kernels will represent you! I am thankful for you and our journey together in this season.
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.” Philippians 1:3
