Lessons Learned

Ten…Nine…Eight….Seven….

The final count down has begun! I never dreamed that I’d be heading 8,284 miles away from everything I know. When I say everything I mean e.v.e.r.y thing!

In exactly one week I will board a plane by myself to fly to New York and meet up with 10 people I have never met before yet we have one major thing in common, each of us has answered the call to go to Uganda, Africa.

In one week we will leave everything familiar to us; our families, friends, homes, comfortable beds, running…clean water, working electricity, nice cars, paved roads, our native language, food and more.

Someone asked me if I’m feeling nervous, excited, terrified? I gave a big YES to all! It’s been a roller coaster of emotions and thoughts as I approach departure day to the unfamiliar. To say that I haven’t cried once or twice saying “I don’t want to go” would be a lie. This is so out of my comfort zone which is saying a lot since I typically surge forward into the unknown without much caution or thought.

Please Pray!

I’m not asking for your prayers, I’m begging for prayer! There is power in prayer, I’ve been on the receiving end many times and felt the strength that carried me through difficult times.

Thank you in advance for putting me, the team and those we will serve on your prayer list as we take the final steps of preparation and during the trip from July 12-24.

Donations I will be taking to Uganda. As I laid out the shoes I began to think about the ones who will wear them. Would you join me in praying that each would experience the love of Jesus and follow Him all the days of their lives?

  1. Just keep on claiming God’s precious promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you and that if He calls you to do something, He will equip you to do it. There is no better, nor safer place, than in the center of God’s will. I also, love Phip 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Praying for you Tina.
