Lessons Learned

Count Your Blessings Kernel by Kernel

image-1Each year the table is set with the best china and delicious aroma of turkey, dressing, gravy and pies fill the air. We gather at the Thanksgiving table and find….just 3 kernels of corn on each plate.

My husband and I began this tradition when our children were little as a way of helping teach the importance of counting our blessings.

Before the meal we each take turns saying three things that we’re thankful for while placing the kernels in a dish.

We’ve had the opportunity to share this tradition with extended family and friends gathered around the table of celebration. I am always blessed by the togetherness it brings when we quiet ourselves to think about and listen to what matters most in life to each of us.

As we gather this year one of my kernels will represent you! I am thankful for you and our journey together in this season.

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.” Philippians 1:3

What are you thankful for this year? Please share with us in the comments below!

  4. Tina, I Thank God for you and what you have done and are doing for the Pregnancy Center. I Thank God for the privilege of being a very small part of it all and for the bond that was built in our praying together. You are very special to me.
